Super Home Services (SHS) is searching for a Controller for its group of operating companies, headquartered near Jacksonville, FL. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller strategically directs the day-to-day financial accounting and reporting functions of the organization. This position leads the following functions:
As Controller, you will:
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- Financial reporting
- General accounting (including A/P, A/R and Payroll)
- Treasury management reporting
- Accounting policies and procedures/internal controls
- Consolidations of business units within group
As Controller, you will:
- Refine and manage the monthly financial statement close process, ensuring timely and accurate close.
- Manage the preparation of monthly financial and operating reports, in coordination with our third-party bookkeeper.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition.
- Ensure proper inventory accounting.
- Prepare and/or review journal entries, as necessary.
- Ensure proper fixed asset accounting
- Assess current state of general ledger and financial reporting system (QuickBooks) and lead efforts to migrate/upgrade based on appropriate business case.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive compendium of accounting policies and procedures and related internal controls.
- Assist with corporate tax compliance, business licenses and other filings, as necessary.
- Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to investors
- Oversee the company's cash reporting and forecasting process and identify and implement best practices to enhance overall cash flow.
- Manage external audit
- Support ad hoc projects as needed.
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Account (CPA) license, desirable, but not required
- Minimum of three years' experience, ideally in a financial reporting capacity
- Multi-location experience a plus
- Experience working with private equity a plus
- Experience in a highly acquisitive company
- Experience with QuickBooks a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, accounting rules and regulations
