This is a unique opportunity for a top notch, highly committed controller who wants to help grow a highly successful and rapidly growing high tech business which is closely held and locally owned by ambitious hardworking people. Reliant Systems, Inc. is located in a new, modern, climate controlled
40,000 sq ft building in Zimmerman, MN. Reliant is a leading vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of high precision linear and rotary positioning motion hardware and tools used in the semiconductor, medical device, additive manufacturing, and laser machining industries. We specialize in custom, easy to integrate OEM motion assemblies that have been designed for a customer’s specific application. We also offer build-to-print manufacturing for customers who have their own design and want to outsource production.

Position Summary:
The Controller is a hands-on position responsible and accountable for the completion and oversight of all financial matters, activities, and reporting for the company and its subsidiary. This includes leadership of all accounting functions, staff, and systems to anticipate and serve the evolving needs of external customers and internal departments in an effective and efficient manner. The Controller will maintain and continuously improve a system of financial information, policies, procedures, controls, and budgets to support accurate and timely reporting of information to guide business decisions, control & save costs, mitigate organization risks, and achieve company goals.
Key Responsibilties:
- Assist, supervise, train staff doing accounting, billing, collections, payables, inventory control.
- Oversee accounting dept to assess & meet needs of customers, management, all departments.
- Collaborate with management and all departments to develop, measure/report progress, and achieve performance benchmarks and goals for company and each department.
- Manage and optimize cash flow, bank accounts, bank and lender relationships.
- Ensure timely collection of AR, timely payment of bills & loans, timely financial reporting.
- Do timely reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, AR, AP, inventory, GL accounts.
- Responsible for general ledger, month-end close & financial stmts, all financial reporting.
- Financial analysis, monitor financial condition & performance of business, find opportunities for cost reduction and continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Provide usable information to management & depts, help them understand and interpret for decision making, make recommendations for better performance, monitor progress.
- Develop & monitor annual budget; review budget variances & corrective action w/ managers.
- Work closely with Supply Chain Manager, Sales, Operations to manage and control inventory quantities & costs, inventory turnover, product pricing/costs/margins, job costs, all costs.
- Lead company process of risk assessment, risk mitigation, sufficient insurance coverages.
- Direct company IT strategy and systems, network & data security, update software & systems.
- Control and safeguard all company assets, monitor capital equipment usage and additions.
- Document & enforce effective system of financial/accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, compliance with applicable laws and government reporting requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required .
- CPA or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
- 8-10 years related experience required incl. 5+ years in mfg, experience with job costing & inventory.
- Experience in working with multiple related entities and intercompany transactions.

- Working knowledge and experience with ISO requirements.
