Behavioral Health of the Palme Beaches, a proud addition to Banyan Treatment Centers, is recruiting for a hard-working, skilled, and creative candidate to join our team as a Cook! He/She provides food services in a residential environment, while communicating with and accessing the support of professional staff. Morning availability is strongly preferred; position requires Breakfast services.

Job Duties:

• Works in collaboration with the Managing Chef to help with the development of menus.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining room and kitchen and assure preparation and handling of food in accordance to sanitary and with national and local standards.
• Requisition food, supplies and equipment.
• Inspect and taste food for quality.
• Helps in the ordering of food, as needed by Director of Food Services.
• Inspect and supervise serving of food.
• Responsible for quality and quantity of food served.
• Assure preparation of sufficient quantities of food in time to meet meal schedules.
• Assure storage of perishables and avoidance of food spoilage and waste.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and a variety of employees.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum experience required composed of evidence of experience in above noted areas of practice, to include experience in the area of sanitation, hygiene, food preparation.

Abilities/Competencies:

• Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, Observation & Written skills.
• Adheres to: Healthcare Code of Ethics
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:
  • Client Confidentiality
