Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary:

The Cook Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the kitchen members and ensures that all meals are prepared on time, safely, and according to customer specifications. As a leader in this department, the Cook Supervisor sets the tone for customer service, aides in the health plans of patients, and promotes overall wellbeing for patients, the community, and employees of Horizon Health.

Essential Functions:

• Leads a team of cooks, washers, and helpers to achieve an organized kitchen and positive work environment.
• Reviews menus to determine types and quantities of food preparation and planning the cooking schedule.
• Works with Dietary Aides to ensure food is ready at specified times.
• Maintains hot and cold food temperatures according to established guidelines.
• Prepares and supervises washing, trimming, cooking, and seasoning of food items for each meal.
• Regularly monitors the kitchen inventory.
• Collaborates with the Food Service Manager or Dietician regarding modified diet preparations based on patient needs.
• Portions or directs distribution of food to serving units.
• Holds team members accountable and assists in development of employees.
• Identifies opportunities for growth and improvement within the kitchen and helps to develop new processes to achieve greater success for the department.
• Serves employees and guests in the cafeteria line –greeting patrons cheerfully. Treats customer with respect, courtesy, and patience. (Consider complaints received).
• Oversees and executes duties for the Meals-on-Wheels program.

Hours: 12:30pm- 9pm, must be available 7 days per week, rotating schedule
