Job Description
The College of Arts and Sciences seeks to hire a Coordinator who will, under minimal supervision, coordinate processes and provide support for senior leadership in the College. This position is responsible for representing the College and University by communicating with internal constituents, including faculty, staff, and students, and external constituents; processing, updating, and maintaining student records, particularly related to academic progress; drafting correspondence and memos; coordinating travel arrangements and reimbursements; maintaining calendars; arranging events; and duplicating and distributing material.

This position will require the individual to work in the office, with the flexibility to also work remotely and meet the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
Job Duties
- Assist and support Associate Deans for Undergraduate Affairs and Graduate Affairs with managing student records related to academic progress.
- Greet visitors and serve students as their initial point of contact with departments, faculty, and staff, including Academic Advising answers and returns telephone calls and e-mails regarding questions and concerns of department/programs; communicates policies and procedures; responds to questions and resolves issues of general complexity.
- Coordinate and perform administrative services; makes arrangements for events and meetings; composes and types correspondence; distributes mail; makes travel arrangements; screens telephone calls; managing filing systems.
- Coordinate student-related events including Pre-Commencement and Student Excellence Award ceremonies.
- Provide administrative support for the day-to-day operations of assigned area(s); prepares purchase requisitions; coordinates and monitors maintenance services; serves as liaison between departments, faculty, and staff.
- Handle or assist with confidential issues or sensitive records; provides technical support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of academic program requirements, university policies regarding academic processing, and the ability to make appropriate decisions related to student academic progress in consultation with the Associate Deans
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and research data-analytic techniques
- Knowledge of the functions of college operating procedures
- Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills, good judgment, and initiative
- Considerable ability to evaluate information, perform analysis and prepare written and oral recommendations
- Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships across multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities
- Ability to operate a computer and use appropriate software applications and peripheral office equipment
- The ability to easily communicate departmental procedures and policies to students, parents, and faculty
- The ability to answer complex questions
- The ability to share information in a clear and concise manner and tailor the communication to the specific audience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with one (1) years of relevant experience.
