LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Counselor to join and support our Community Based Counseling team! As a provisionally licensed counselor under immediate supervision, provides strengths-based, trauma-informed individual, couples, group and/or family counseling to clients as appropriate to the assigned program. The Counselor I demonstrates foundational clinical knowledge and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides individual, couples, group and/or family counseling based on program population, face-to-face or via telehealth.
- Provides crisis intervention services with clients based on individual program needs.
- Administers client services which may include:
- initial and ongoing assessment;
- diagnosis, session planning and treatment planning;
- record keeping;
- case management tasks as appropriate;
- evaluation of client progress;
- contacting and collaborating with internal and external collaterals;
- follow-up.
- Provides appropriate referrals; keeps apprised of available community resources.
- Maintains documentation of all services in accordance with agency and funding requirements.
- Provides community outreach as required by individual program.
- Follows licensure requirements as determined by program, agency, and/or grants. Maintains documentation of CEUs.
- Assists in program development, quality assurance, and special projects, such as conducting file reviews and actively engaging in program improvement projects.
- Provides support and supervision to interns as appropriate.
- Participates in agency and community committees which may include agency working groups or community collaboration initiatives as approved by supervisor.
- Attends team meetings, supervision, and clinical supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field;
- Holds initial licensure (ex: LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) or is able of obtain within 6 months of hire;
- Requires 6+ months direct clinical experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
