LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Counselor to join our Youth & Adult Counseling team! Youth & Adult Counseling’s service philosophy embraces a strengths-based, outcome-oriented, collaborative approach, utilizing evidenced-based models. The program model is based on the belief that all individuals have the innate capacity to develop their own solutions. We focus on strengths, help individuals and families identify goals for therapy, assist them on their personal journey, and facilitate their progress towards identified goals. In addition to providing counseling services to individuals, couples, families, or groups, the Counselor will also need to maintain robust documentation according to program requirements.

This position is scheduled for the evenings (4:30pm-8:30pm) at least three evenings per week. There is also the opportunity for some Saturday's (9am-1pm) for additional hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides individual, couples, group and/or family counseling based on program population, face-to-face or via telehealth.
  • Provides crisis intervention with clients based on individual program needs.
  • Administers client services, which may include initial and on-going assessments; diagnosis, session planning, and treatment planning; evaluation of client progress; completing follow-ups with clients; and contacting and collaborating with internal and external collaterals.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation of all services in accordance with agency and funding requirements, including entering information into an agency database as well as general recording keeping.
  • Keeps apprised of internal agency and external community resources and provides referrals as appropriate.
  • Follows guidelines and licensure requirements as determined by board, agency, program, or grants, including maintaining documentation of CEUs.
  • Assists in program development, quality assurance, and special projects, such as conducting file reviews and actively engaging in program improvement projects.
  • Provides training, support, and supervision to interns and volunteers as appropriate.
  • Provides case management supportive tasks as needed.
  • Attends team meetings, agency or community committees, supervision, and clinical supervision as appropriate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field; and
  • Requires 6+ months direct clinical experience.
  • Possess (or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire) one or more of the following licenses: LMSW, LPC-A, and/or LMFT-A.
  • Competent in use of electronic systems such as client databases, MS Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field; and
  • Requires 2+ years post-graduate direct clinical experience.
  • Possess one or more of the following licenses: LCSW, LPC, and/or LMFT.
  • Board-approved certification to provide clinical supervision highly preferred.
