Curriculum Manager & Social Emotional Teacher
This position is twofold. This role will manage all campus curriculum and library resources. They will teach Social Emotional skills to 2nd-5th grade and offer an elective course to Middle School & High School scholars. They will also determine which scholars will benefit from intervention and place scholars in appropriate reading groups.

Principal & the Executive Director of Research & Development
Job Goals:
To oversee libraries, teach and work directly with scholars to improve academic results. Ensure campus-level reading mastery at all grade levels. To provide leadership, coordination, collaboration, and innovation in reading curriculum and instruction, so that each scholar may drive maximum benefit from the reading curriculum.
Terms of Employment:
12-month at-will employee
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains and organizes all library materials
- Maintains and organizes all campus curriculum materials
- Is responsible for maintaining the curriculum room and library books
- Responsible for receiving and distributing curriculum that comes in throughout the year for the campus.
- Inputs new books into the library electronic system
- Teaches elementary grades social-emotional curriculum
- Teaches an elective for M/S and H/S
- Successfully facilitates campus reading curriculum “Success For All” SFA.
- Manage high school study groups assigned to the library throughout the day.
Instruction & Scholar Achievement:

- Teaches scholars the importance of hard work through joyful rigor -engaging, dynamic learning that is academically, intellectually and personally challenging.
- Implements the three BA non-negotiable instructional methods: Whole Brain Teaching, Interactive Scholar Notebooks, and Hands-On Learning.
- Understands that classroom observational feedback/scores will emphasize the successful implementation of the above teaching methods.
- Fosters a love of learning and celebrates scholar successes.
- Challenges scholars to reach their highest potential.
- Models and promotes BA character traits to scholars and stresses the importance of each scholar being a responsible, contributing citizen to society. I will recognize and reward scholars for displaying BA character traits and uphold zero tolerance for bullying and disrespect.
- Implements the technology and software programs provided by BA, Operating and using technology for optimum results. I will ensure scholars also know how to operate and use technology and software provided.
- Monitors and assess scholars’ daily work to reflect excellence in neatness, thoroughness and scholar mastery of instructional goals. I will ensure scholars do their best in every subject and use neat legible handwriting on assignments. Anything but a scholar's BEST is unacceptable.
- Takes ownership of tutorials and apply the same standards as above.
Management & Organizations:

- Implements library rules/procedures and follow school drills and sub-protocol procedures in accordance with the Parent/Scholar Handbook and utilize the Handbook as the first point of reference.
- Maintains a neat, clean, orderly, and educationally centered environment that demonstrates BA standards of excellence. BA teachers take ownership of the campus and instill this in scholars daily.
- Ensures school library program goals and objectives are aligned with school and district long-range strategic plans.
- Uses effective management principles, including the supervision of personnel, resources, and facilities, in developing and implementing program goals and objectives.
- Uses evidence of practice, particularly in terms of learning outcomes, to support program goals and planning.
- Generates evidence in practice that demonstrates the efficacy and relevance of the school library instructional program.
- Conducts ongoing action research and evaluation that creates data that is used to inform continuous program improvement.
- Establishes processes and procedures for selection, acquisition, circulation, resource sharing, etc. that assure appropriate resources are available when needed.
- Creates and maintains in the school library a teaching and learning environment that is inviting, safe, flexible, and conducive to student learning.
- Selects effective technological applications for management purposes.
- Participates in the recruiting, hiring, and training of other professionals, educational library assistants, scholars, and volunteer staff.
- Arranges for flexible scheduling of the school libraries to provide student access to staff and resources at the point of need.
- Ensures equitable physical access to school library facilities by providing barrier-free, universally designed environments.
- Performs uniform checks and understands scholars are expected to follow the BA appearance guidelines.
- Keeps an updated roster in the library.
- Trains teachers and scholars on software programs used in the library.
Professionalism & Communication:

- Demonstrates professionalism by being in regular attendance and arriving on time to work, staff meetings, tutorials, cafeteria duty, parent nights and other assigned duties.
- Completes required training on time.
- Works cooperatively to create an atmosphere of unity among the school community and refrain from gossip, negativity, and unsupportive comments.
- Demonstrates professionalism at ALL times. I will exercise wisdom by remaining calm, respectful, and non-defensive during parent meetings, disagreements, and personal attacks.
- Utilizes professional communication with strong grammar, syntax, usage, and/or spelling skills during phone conversations, personal conversations, emails, and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I will refrain from attacking others, fighting, or engaging in controversial subjects on social media. - Exhibits professionalism in appearance and follows the BA standard of dress. I will apply this standard of dress to social media posts in regards to modesty in dress and action (ex: swimsuit, cleavage, & shirtless pictures, in addition to posts with alcohol, cigarettes, and bars, etc.).
- Regularly communicates to parents about scholar achievement levels, class behavior, assigned homework, academic needs, and any concerns.
- Checks Beta email a minimum of three times daily during normal working hours and checks teacher inbox daily and commits to reading updates, notes, and employee notices in a timely manner.
