When you join PPGNY as a Customer Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for patients via telephone and set the stage for a positive and supportive experience with our organization. You will foster a positive work environment with internal and external customers by providing professional, efficient and caring services. Answers phones and triages patient calls, including appointment management.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Provides patients with accurate and clear information about appointment and services.
- Collects all relevant information to determine what type of appointment to schedule.
- Accurately schedules patients for appointment requested.
- Proactively searches for soonest appointment availability, across multiple site locations. Provides patients with information on financial assistance programs available to them, including, but not limited to, MPW, FPBP, and ACA. Gives the range of fees associated with a particular visit type.
- Collects all required demographic and billing information, including insurance verification, following PPGNY and NYSDSS guidelines.
- Provides general health and contraceptive information.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sensitivity and a nonjudgmental manner in dealing with sexuality and sensitive issues with clients.
- Solves problems and triages calls/questions to appropriate medical personnel; documents in the EMR to ensure appropriate follow up.
You have:
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid State of New York Driver’s license preferred

- Proficiency in other languages
- Prior Planned Parenthood employment.
- Prior health care employment

All positions at PPGNY require:
Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
