WORK LOCATION: 650 California St., 21st Floor, San Francisco, CA 94108
JOB DUTIES: Predictive Modeling to include building and deployment of GLM models for various types of risks and fields (Catastrophic Events, Life Insurance, Pay Equity Analysis, Climate Change); building and deployment of machine learning models with Telematics data for Auto Insurance; role requires creativity and willingness to learn and unexpected challenges that could require the employee to acquire new knowledge and learn new skills in a short period of time for projects that could or not be one-offs; and predictive modeling requires a good foundation of mathematical and statistical concepts, but this specific role will also require understanding of the industry the modeling will be applied on. Data Preparation and Collection to include data cleaning for data analysis and modeling; development of web scraping programs to collect data from web sources; use of text mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques; and programming skills are essential to perform all tasks above (Python, R, SAS and/or SQL). Actuarial Exhibits to include production of documents that are sent to clients to present work and analysis in a professional format.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or other related quantitative field
- Knowledge, gained through academic study or professional experience in these areas:
- SQL, R, Python, or SAS
- Fitting multivariate models with a variety of supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
- Data analysis
- Data visualization
- Writing technical reports
All requirements may have been satisfied concurrently.
