GET TO KNOW THE ROLE
The Database Analyst, analyzes, designs, implements, maintains, and reviews enterprise databases centered systems and related security policies. Optimize, integrate, and automate database system processes. Identifies and documents data resources, data migration processes, system relationships, source code and operating procedures. Develop, maintain, and document application, script and stored procedure code used to manage and integrate company databases.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
- Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort (MCR).
- Create, maintain, and facilitates a positive and safe work environment; promote positive team member relations and reports issues to appropriate personnel.
- Develop, deploy, maintain, support, and debug SSIS packages.
- Evaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues.
- Interpret business processes to develop data entity structures, star schemas, measures, and cubes.
- Develop, test and maintain MS SQL Server databases.
- Develop application/inter-application test plans; assist in the development of data requirement test scenarios and verify test results.
- Develop, deploy, maintain, support, and debug SQL Server Analysis Services cubes and Reporting Services reports.
- Investigate and resolve problems of data accuracy and availability.
- Will work with Business Analysts to aid in the design of the system.
- Identify architectural issues and propose alternative solutions.
- Install upgrades and patches to existing databases.
- Develop and maintain data warehouse environment documentation.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects to schedule, ensuring requirements are met. Report on progress weekly and measure against goals/initiatives to management for meeting project objectives.
- Assist with creating and maintaining documentation standards, coach others on developing high quality documentation.
- Provide leadership and guidance on process, methodology, and direct content review that will support the project team. Participate in or lead design and code reviews.
- Additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator or equivalent knowledge.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or equivalent knowledge.
- ISEB (ITIL V3 Foundations) Certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Four (4) years Database Administration/Analyst experience, including designing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, within a mid to large size technical team in a progressive organization where Microsoft SQL had extensively been utilized.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer related field preferred.
- Ability to obtain a class IIIA gaming license.
HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to frequently interact with users, managers, customers, and vendors, combined with an ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of development of strategies for enterprise reporting and data connectivity.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and analysis.
- Experience developing ETL processes loading Data Warehouses/Data Marts
- Experience using SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS packages.
- Excellent understanding of RDBM (Relationship Database Management)
- Experience supporting a multi-database environment.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues.
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot software/database issues independently.
- Ability to explain highly technical concepts successfully verbally to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to consistently communicate to internal/external guests in a fashion that demonstrates a helpful professional attitude.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Availability – Ability to work on-site 40+ hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, some holidays, weekends, and nights may be required to support a 24/7 operation. Must maintain on-call rotation.
- Physical – Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
- Environment – Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
