Job description
Delivery & Mover Worker drives university vehicle/truck and moves/delivers furniture, recycling, office items and/or packages throughout the university campus. Vehicles may include the operation of liftgate. Focuses on safety, efficiency in moving skills, and communication with customers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Must have a current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to see details at close range;
- Ability to listen and understand spoken information and ideas;
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects;
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs;
- Ability to work outside in various temperatures (summer/winter) for extended periods of time;
- Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent judgment;
- Ability to prioritize work/tasks in a deadline-oriented environment;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and Customer service focus
