The Role

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a motivated candidate for a Development Coordinator position in the renewable energy industry. This position would support the Southeast Project Development team and be based in either the Asheville or Durham office. As a Development Coordinator of Cypress Creek projects, this position balances sound internal communication with coordinating and documenting development activities using cloud-based document management and project information databases and reporting tools. Projects may be located across multiple states in the southeast and will generally have between a 12-36 month development cycle. The Development Coordinator will also support market and policy efforts, including tracking of market activities, reviewing utility plans, and supporting our legislative efforts. An effective candidate will demonstrate comprehensive attention to detail, superior organization, a desire to solve complex problems, enthusiastic initiative, effective communication skills and an excellent ability to work with others across multiple teams.

Essential functions of the position include, but, are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with internal project developers and subject matter guides for the successful and timely execution of key development deliverables including the following:
    • Performing site diligence by reviewing environmental, utility, and other land features
    • Completing project permitting by creating and submitting zoning applications, handling external consultants, and creating permitting site plans
    • Navigation through the interconnection process of submitting a request or application and working with the applicable utility through necessary technical studies
    • Serving as a representative for Cypress Creek Renewables including; Assisting in community engagement and outreach efforts
    • Supporting and managing landowner relationships including sending notices and payments
  • Entering and maintaining key project data using cloud-based document management, relational databases, and reporting tools. Key project data management could include:
    • Onboarding new projects into data systems
    • Maintaining projections of upcoming payments, project budgets, and cash forecasts
    • Tracking interface with external stakeholders including landowners, consultants, utilities, permitting authorities, etc
  • Creating and managing project and market dashboards and reports with status of development activities for distribution to the market team and executive team

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree and 0-4 years working experience
  • Bachelor's degree focused on energy, environmental, business or engineering industries is a plus
  • Working or Internship experience in energy, environmental, or engineering industries is a plus
  • Salesforce experience is a plus, not required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft excel, skills required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Results driven and solutions oriented
  • Confidence to take initiative to figure it out, but also to ask questions when needed
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to seek help when needed
  • Demonstrated team-first mentality and willingness to do whatever it takes
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required
  • Must be located or move to either the Asheville or Durham office
