PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for Department’s financial profitability, adherence to budget, revenue production, portfolio quality, and overall contribution to the Bank’s bottom line.
- Focus on credit risk, compliance risk, and the strict adherence to all SBA and CenterState Bank policies in order to assure that SBA will honor their guaranty when requested of them
- Attract, retain, and continually develop high quality staff
- Ability to manage and assist employees under your supervision, to include lenders and loan closers.
- Grow a portfolio by generating high quality SBA 7a and USDA loans.
- Generates and screens leads.
- Develop and nurture referral sources.
- Assists conventional lenders at Bank with SBA 504 loans as needed.
- Recommends changes and additions to loan development programs to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability of the Bank.
- Presents loan requests to Credit Department for review and approval.
- Develops and manages large and/or complex loan accounts, including personally calling on customers and prospects when applicable, interviewing loan applicants, collecting and analyzing financial and related data to establish credit worthiness; establishing and negotiating credit terms, and monitoring customers’ credit worthiness and repayment activities.
- Coordinates with Bank approved outside service providers (attorney, appraiser, etc.).
- Assists in the underwriting and processing of loan requests as needed.
- Serve as a liaison to the branches in support of their banking activities.
- Coordinates and assists back office personnel in resolving credit problems, delinquent payment issues, and other related affairs.
- Calls and visits target customers as needed.
- Assures timely loan closing and funding activities.
- Promotes and cross-sells other Bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
- Keeps abreast of local and national economic, financial, political and legislative events and climates which could have an impact on lending actives.
- Expected to obtain or exceed established goals.
- Should be involved in the community and be active in the promotion of the bank in the community.
- Work within the existing audit, compliance and regulatory framework to ensure a high quality, compliant book of business.
- Comply with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures, which include but are not limited to:
- Participation in required training.
- Instances of suspicious activity should be reported to the BSA Officer.
OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires strong knowledge of personal computer, Microsoft Office and other software used in department.
- Attract, retain, and continually develop high quality staff
- Must be able to prepare documents and compose business letters and memorandums.
- Must have good knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
- Requires knowledge of office practices, procedures and general office machines.
- Ability to make cold calls and to generate leads that result in new business.
- Should have solid contacts with loan referral sources.
- Solid credit skills in both business and commercial real estate loans.
- Should have underwriting knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Should have a strong since of determining needs and providing a full range of products and services to meet those needs, including negotiating and structuring of loans.
- Must be able to work independently in the management of your own portfolio.
- Must be able to travel as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be accustomed to professional, business office environment in manner and dress. Must demonstrate excellent human relation skills with customers and bank associates. Must be willing to participate as a team member.

DIMENSIONS REQUIRED:
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university of equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible government lending, business development and loan generation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate.
