Why does the job exist?

This position will directly oversee and manage various homes that provides services to Individuals who are Developmentally Disabled. This position functions as a supervisor to lower-level Direct Care Staff and is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the individuals served in their assigned home. The House Supervisor is responsible for assigning staff assignments, auditing documentation, providing training to staff, observing resident behavior, and participating as a member to the Individuals Interdisciplinary Team, as well as, providing highly skilled services to Individuals who behavioral and/or mentally ill and who may cause injury to themselves or others. LLCP has three (3) shifts; 12am-8am, 8am-4pm, and 4pm-12am. These positions will be assigned to one of these shifts and will be required to work weekends and Holidays.

The House Supervisor is responsible for assigning staff assignments, auditing documentation, providing training to staff, observing resident behavior, and participating as a member to the Individual's Interdisciplinary Team, as well as, providing highly skilled services to Individuals who behavioral and/or mentally ill and who may cause injury to themselves or others.

Adult individual's who are developmentally disabled and could display behavioral challenges and/or medical challenges.

Experience as a Supervisor
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
Experience working with individuals who mentally and physical disabled and/or display behavior challenges

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification.

Employment Requirements

This position is Designated a safety sensitive position. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state laws, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment will require a successful completion of criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must posses and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated August 12, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.

In addition, employees working in State correctional facilities who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to inmates are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Work is performed in community-based homes of the individual. Position requires the ability to lift/push/transfer and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance. The incumbent may be exposed to unpredictable violent behavior of the individual. Daily driving is required to meet the needs for individuals served. Occasional overnight stay may be required. Specific geographic location for this position will vary depending on agency needs and utilization.
