Job Summary

Leads the Graduation Rate Initiative Team and Attendance Response Teams. Is responsible for planning, evaluating, and managing Inservice training for school-based and district personnel related to truancy, withdrawal procedures, scheduling of students, and best practices related to improving promotion and graduation rates.

Essential Functions

1. Leads, directs, and manages specialists and supervisors, recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff.
2. Provides leadership, vision, and visibility for monitoring student progress towards promotion and graduation.
3. Provides program development, articulation, and coordination services to departments.
4. Serves as Project Director for student supports related to meeting graduation requirements and improving attendance.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the areas of educational research, student assessment, and evaluation of educational programs. School based and district-level administrative experience preferred.

Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in Educational Leadership or Administration/Supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of school board policies; district rules and guidelines; and state and federal laws related school accountability and reporting, and attendance.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development theories and practices.
  • Knowledge of student progress monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge FERPA and data sharing procedures.
  • Knowledge of budget procedures.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, GIS, and database software skills
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen skills.
  • Strong supervisory management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage organizational budget.
