Responsibilities

• Recognizes vulnerabilities including discoveries made during random or regularly scheduled audits of research and research administration activities reporting them as required. Takes preventive remedial or corrective actions in collaboration with appropriate research administration legal risk management and hospital leadership personnel.
• Manages and serves as the administrator for the human subjects protection program overseeing work of IRB supervisors coordinators and otherstaff assistants and working closely with administrative personnel managing clinical trials. Orchestrates and oversees random or scheduled auditsof human research subject consents and consenting of nurse and physician or other investigator interactions with human study subjects.
• Manages and serves as the administrator for the animal welfare and biosafety programs in collaboration with the chief veterinarian and the Chair of the IACUC (typically a scientific investigator) and with the Chair of the Biosafety Committee (typically a scientific investigator) respectively.Oversees work of any staff assisting in these activities and oversees random or scheduled audits of animal and hazardous materials usage reports appropriately on findings and provides or assists in providing preventative remedial or corrective actions as necessary.
• Serves as the Research Integrity Officer responsible for overseeing the inquiry and investigative processes and ensuring compliance of all parties in the conduct of inquiries and investigations of research misconduct.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of job related experience required including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in human subject protection regulations and compliance matters in clinical trials animal and/or laboratory studies required.

$88.46 - $141.54 /hour
