Director – Global Software Systems Training

This is a new function. You will build and lead a group responsible for training our valuable personnel our software systems globally. You will be a working manager who will also engage in training. Our solutions are both off-the-shelf and custom. The 2023 plan includes onboarding this role and then three regional trainers, one in APAC, one in Europe, and one in the Americas. The leadership position will be based in the USA and may work remotely.

The Training Department plays a crucial role in connecting the IT Department’s internal customers to our software. The main purpose of this position is to help our internal customers operate the software as effectively and efficiently as possible.

In this position, you will travel approximately 80% of the time. You will travel both individually and on occasion with a team depending on the project. This role requires excellent presentation and communication skills as you will meet with personnel around the globe representing the IT Department. You will develop relationships with our offices and assist them in becoming better users of our software systems.

When you are not physically at a user office for training, you will support our worldwide offices via Microsoft Teams, prepare for future trips, and conduct follow-ups with recently trained individuals, and provide valuable from-the-field feedback to IT Developers from your home office. Since you will be working from a home office, we will provide you with a company cell phone and laptop.

One of your early tasks will be to build a team with your regional trainers. You and your team will be trained by the IT Department, first on our premier, proprietary Meridian system. Training on this system will be your team’s first scope and other software systems will be brought into scope over time.

Requirements:

• Ability to travel (overnight) 80% of the time, nationally and internationally
• Must have a passport for international travel needs
• Experience as a software trainer
• Experience leading and managing others within a software training role
• Outgoing, friendly personality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have reliable home internet with sufficient bandwidth for video conferencing
• Develop and execute training plans, training materials, and classes (remote and on site)
• Schedule classes into facilities and provide software instruction to the organization’s employees
• Review results and trainee feedback to improve materials and classes, as well as identify and develop additional software training opportunities
• Provide constructive criticism to the IT Group to improve products
• Ability to communicate well with persons at all levels within the organization
• Manage a budget for your group
• Develop and report monthly on KPIs
• Reports to the CIO
