Pumpkin is looking for a Director of National Sales with a broad network, mature sales acumen and experience building and leading a world-class outside sales team. This Director will be responsible for rapidly expanding the team as well as developing and coaching the current team to deliver aggressive sales growth goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in a B2B selling environment using both traditional and modern selling tools and tactics. This role will also play a critical role in strategy development and serve as a thought leader and ambassador of Pumpkin’s “customer-first” culture both internally and externally.

This will be a remote position with the requirement to travel 30-40% of the time (sales team meetings, trade shows, company related travel, etc.)

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver a second-to-none insurance experience for pet owners and providers, making Pumpkin the market leading pet insurance in your market.
  • Hire and onboard sales representatives to deliver against aggressive expansion plans.
  • Provide high quality training, performance coaching, and development to a team of 15+ sales professionals.
  • Cultivate a data-driven culture of accountability and results, leveraging KPIs, milestones and account-level reviews to drive performance on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the goals of the sales team through the CRM and provide timely reporting and transparency to the executive team.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with large, strategic customers (key accounts).
  • Develop actionable insights and market intelligence based on your clinics, patients, manufacturers, and corporate groups and share cross-functionally.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in setting strategies and OKRs for your team and drive on the ground sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Actively partner with Director of Inside Sales to ensure best practice sharing, cross-pollination of talent, and seamless customer coverage.
  • Meet and exceed overall sales goals and quotas.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years experience in sales, marketing, or related fields.
  • Experience in animal health or insurance industries is ideal.
  • 5+ years people leadership experience in a hyper-growth environment.
  • Deep experience setting goals and KPIs to bring strategy to life at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Expertise with CRMs, performance analytics, and sales automation tools (Salesforce, Salesloft Cadence, TryProspect, Outreach).
  • Self-starter with ability to work under pressure and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% of the time (sales team meetings, trade shows, company related travel).

Compensation: $130,000-$150,000
