SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination of patient care in the pre-operative, intra-operative and recovery room.
Coordinates and oversees daily patient and staff flow. Coordinates the administrative aspects of health services, OSHA
regulations, HIPPA requirements, staff personnel files and pharmaceutical services. The Nursing Director will work
closely with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Nursing Administrator and consultants to ensure the provision
of quality care and service

Please note that you may need to travel between Pottsville and Wyomissing offices.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

• Coordinates the orientation and education of staff members
• Maintains records of educational programs provided and staff participation
• Works closely with vendors, consultants and materials management to maintain equipment, review new

products ensuring cost effectiveness and patient safety

• Collaborate with the OR Manager, Surgical Technicians and Central Sterilization areas
• Assists with the coordination of infection control practices. Maintains adherence to acceptable standards of

infection control practices and monitors staff activity and practices related to infection control.

• Responsible for investigating and initiates appropriate actions regarding suspected or actual infections
• Monitors daily staff assignments
• Responsible for the flow of the schedule in the operating room
• Recruits, hires, evaluates, counsels and terminates staff
• Initiates and coordinates quality assurance activities in response to identifies areas of concern or to identify the

scope of concern

• Reviews and revises job descriptions
• Participates in the development, review, revision, implementation, interpretation and monitoring of policies

and procedures

• Conducts chart audits, as per the Quality Improvement/Risk Management program plan
• Serves as a member of established committees of the center and participates in quality assurance, risk

management and infection control activities

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Current license as a Registered Nurse
• BSN or BS in a Health Care related field preferred
• Prior management experience in health care
• ACLS/BLS Certified
• ASORN certified preferred
