Job Description:The Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown is a full service 204 rooms hotel with a restaurant, lounge and 15,000 sq.ft. of meeting space and we are looking for an aggressive high energy sales leader to join our team.
The Director of Sales will have a primary focus on developing and facilitating business in the Corporate, Government & Military market to ensure maximum revenue growth for a successful and profitable operation. The ultimate goal is to meet and exceed top line revenue through strategic pricing, excellent relationship building and strong negotiating skills in applicable market segments. Must be able to provide market intelligence as it relates to travel and hospitality and its impact in Norfolk and surrounding Market.
Responsible for top line revenue with sensitivity to bottom line results. Oversee sales initiatives while working in conjunction with the revenue team efforts. Generate and manage sales requests from initial client to final consumption and follow-up.
Requirements:
- Passion and commitment to the business at an ownership level
- Oversee department sales & catering managers to inspire loyalty and maximize profitability
- Participate in community and industry organizations representing the hotel
- Manage guest and community relations
- Ensure compliance with brand standards as well as Wyndham standards and procedures
- Maximize revenue through yield management and ongoing sales calls
- Must possess high energy, professionalism and confidence
- Be a highly motivated and enthusiastic leader
- Conduct required daily and weekly meetings with enthusiasm and commitment to success
- Train department managers to deliver the highest performance
- Must be capable to successfully prioritize, delegate, organize and multi-task
- Develop and implement annual sales and revenue budget with ongoing monitoring of budget
- Must create annual Marketing Plan and ensure compliance of implementation
- A minimum of five years hotel sales experience
- Has held a Sales Manager Corporate, Military & Government positions during career and fully understands their culture and business ethics.
- Must have excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to make informed decisions in a timely manner without the need for detailed instruction
- Strategic Pricing experience
- Budgetary, projections and cost control skills and ability to produce consistent profits
- Computer proficiency required in the following software: Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office (E.g. Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook able to perform basic spreadsheet and PowerPoint functions)

1. Bachelor's degree - preferred
2. Hospitality or related industry experience - required
3. Previous revenue management and sales experience – required

5. Knowledgeable of Top-Accounts for the Hotel - preferred
