Job Description

The Director, Quality Integration is responsible for strategic and tactical Quality integration for business development targets. This important role is a key partner to the global Business Development (BD) team, ensuring that the Quality Assurance perspectives are embedded in Integration efforts and champion the assimilation into the Olympus Quality System (where applicable) and leads compliance risk mitigation efforts when deemed necessary.

Job Duties

  • Review the preliminary integration strategies and Due Diligence results from potential acquisitions.


  • Work with their global functional window person and the cross-functional integration team to develop the final integration strategy and plan, including key risks/mitigations, resource assignments, new headcount needs, and budget requirements


  • Responsible for driving the integration at the transition point


  • Drive the integration execution program until all objectives are completed


  • Take over functional accountability for the integration by Day 1


  • Defend and evolve the integration strategy/plan, as necessary, and maintenance of the integration team


  • Managing internal reporting and acts as primary contact between Olympus and the target company.


  • Responsible for site audit readiness of the acquisition and ensures adoption and compliance to all applicable regulatory standard requirements, guidance, and best practices.


  • Provide input and support for the development, implementation, and improvement of QA processes at the acquisition.


  • Partners with senior leaders across Olympus to identify and remove blockers to ensure delivery of an integrated approach to Quality at the acquisition site.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BS in STEM minimum.


  • Minimum of 20 years in medical device/pharmaceutical industry - direct Quality/Regulatory experience required, direct experience in acquisitions/mergers highly desired. Project management experience preferred.


  • Some travel may be required (~15%), both domestically and internationally. Hours include communication with Business Partners in EMEA, Japan, Asia Pac, as project needs dictate


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across cultures and personality types


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to quickly distils complex information into actions/recommendations


  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management
