ABOUT THE POSITION
The Columbia Sales team partners with external partners (from wholesale key accounts to independent boutiques) and internal teams including Merchandising, Marketing, Planning and Product to understand the needs of consumers and the realities of the marketplace, as well as how our product best fits in to that equation. The Sales team’s business savviness and sales strategy expertise lends itself to strong partnerships and solid results, and this role leads that team and process.
As the Director, Strategic Accounts, you will focus on Columbia Sportswear’s Bass Pro Shop/Cabela’s, Famous Footwear and Shoe Carnival accounts. This role is responsible for developing and executing purposeful plans based on company objectives that promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. You will strengthen existing executive-level client relationships and develop new business opportunities within the accounts. You will drive strategy and growth in conjunction with your sales team and cross-functional partners.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Create a culture of coaching to create an empowered sales team to ensure success in business and goal achievement
- Identify and execute business strategies that contribute to the key objectives of the Department Store accounts, retention, incremental revenue and market share growth, and opportunities for expansion
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company sales leadership and cross-functional partners
- Collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to establish successful support, channel, and partner programs to build enhanced go-to-market strategy and sales plans. Role models active partnership at multiple levels.
- Foster high-performance culture, innovative thinking, and enterprise mindset throughout the organization.
- Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
YOU ARE
- Clear and effective communicator in small group settings and with large groups
- A strategic thinker who can also manage detail
- Well-versed in persuasion, influencing, and negotiation
- An adept team leader, organizer, and motivator
- Skilled at analyzing market conditions and responding with appropriate strategies and direction
- Analytical, including problem-solving skills
YOU HAVE
- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of equivalent experience
- 10+ years of successful sales experience building and developing a team, managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities.
- Proven experience working within a matrixed company environment
- Strong financial and business acumen
