Matheson Trucking, Inc. is looking for an experienced Director of Recruiting to fill our Sacramento, CA corporate office location to help us as we expand to new heights and support our growing business.

Position Description: The Director of Recruiting is responsible for overseeing the recruiting department as well as the development of recruitment policies and procedures and implementation of effective recruitment innovations. Provides leadership, support, advocacy, and vision to the recruiting team and supports hiring managers across the organization.

Primary Skills & Qualifications:

  • Leadership & Company Branding:
  • Building Matheson’s brand, provide guidance, training, and recommendations to managers across all companies on all aspects of recruiting. Analyze and enhance current recruiting policies and processes.
  • Partner with the department and hiring managers to determine staffing needs and provide leadership during critical peak season recruiting as well as proactive recruitment of key positions.
  • Lead corporate recruiting initiatives to meet company objectives.
  • Develop, and Manager advertising programs that include Social Media Platforms
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal hiring managers and external vendors, to ensure the achievement of staffing goals.
  • Develop new strategies and programs to attract top-quality candidates.
  • Facilitate open communication with managers, so they are comfortable in seeking assistance early in resolving issues and concerns.
  • Performance Measurement:
  • Maintain the Applicant Tracking System by monitoring candidate activity and creating consistent processes to guarantee the effective use of the software.
  • Designs work processes to ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, standards and laws. This includes the Driver Qualification (DQ) files for all drivers.
  • Measure and evaluates recruiting efforts and programs to implement compliant and effective recruiting and selection procedures and train hiring managers on interview and selection procedures.
  • Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Ensures recruiting resources are available to meet recruitment demands.
  • Affirmative Action/ Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including Affirmative Action Plan compliance.
  • Supervisory:
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to the Recruiting Manager and a recruitment team of 10+
  • Ensures that recruiting team provides effective communications to applicable candidates through the recruiting process and keeps hiring managers abreast of recruitment efforts and progress.
  • Builds team focus on delivering results by providing effective coaching and by driving and maintaining high recruiting standards.

Compensation:

  • Will commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position.

Requirements:

  • Leadership and management skills are required.
  • 8 to 10 years of managing a recruiting team of 10+ in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • 5+ years of DOT Class A Driver recruitment experience desired or the ability to learn the compliance requirements of a highly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing innovative recruitment programs is required.
  • Experience in reporting metrics/data analytics.
  • Experience with ATS implementation, optimization, and use.
