Position Summary:
The Document Specialist will work with the recording team to assemble real estate documents for recording within large transactions.


Responsibilities
:

  • Assemble documents to be recorded in conjunction with large deals, including securitizations, loans, refinances, and bulk purchases
  • Complete any/all transfer tax forms to be sent with the Deeds and/or Mortgages where applicable
  • Assist with recording fee calculations
  • Assist with calculating transfer taxes for deed conveyances
  • Assist recording department with any document rejections. Assist with generating legal descriptions
  • QC documents prior to closing transactions to ensure accuracy. Job Requirements
  • Some familiarity with the types of documents recorded in the chain of title, title search review, and title insurance
  • Knowledge of general, nationwide real estate principles and practices a plus Proficient in various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective working relationships with others both within and outside of their team


Qualifications

  • Attention to detail, research, and analytical abilities
  • Work independently and remain accurate under pressure
  • Organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency
  • High School diploma; some college preferred
  • Some experience or exposure to residential title practices preferred, but not required


Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college preferred. Residential title experience preferred, but not required. Some knowledge of general real estate principles and practices. Proficient in various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experienced in managing multiple projects. Proficient knowledge of deeds, mortgage, releases, assignments, judgments, liens. Prioritizes and implements process improvement opportunities. Effective working relationships with others both within and outside of their team.
