Summary

The department of Medicine and the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) are recruiting for a senior faculty leader. This faculty position will direct and oversee the development of the DLDCCC translational research program. As part of the translational program the Cancer Center is currently developing an Experimental Therapeutics program within our new space at our O'Quinn towers. This position will lead efforts in building and developing the program including Phase I clinical trials. This position will report to the Cancer Center director as the Associate Director for Translational Research. Additionally, this position will have an appointment within Baylor's Office of Research as Associate Dean, Experimental Therapeutics.

As Associate Dean, Experimental Therapeutics this position will:

• Build a link between the innovation institute.
• Provide strategic direction and promote translational research with the Drug Discovery center and other academic units at the BCM.
• Help mentor and recruit clinical-translational investigators in medicine, surgery, and other units.

As Associate Director for Translation Research:

• You will enhance and facilitate translation research.
• Integrate and coordinate basic science programs discoveries with Disease Working Groups.
• Serve as mentor and build next generation of translational researchers in cancer across departments.
• Foster and build a milieu that will enhance development of bench to bedside trials and team grants.
• Provide direction and help recruit and mentor the phase I program and help in shaping the DLDCCC CCSG and integrate the center with national programs.
