Job Summary (Primary function): As a key member of the Drug Development Learning And Development team, the eLearning Training Designer/Developer will be responsible for assisting with needs assessment and transforming existing content into interesting and effective eLearning Courses using Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360. In addition the eLearning Training Designer/Developer will provide support in the management of the daily operational documents and training activities owned by Drug Development L&D. The role will also support other training initiatives as needed.
Skills required for the role:
- Proficiency using Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise
- Ability to independently design and author complex and high-quality instructional content, aligning learning outcomes with course content design guidelines and adult learning principles
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure course requirements are being met and projects are kept on track
- The eLearning Course Designer/Developer supports the LMS administration team with creating SCORM packages and loading courses into various LMS platforms
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop and deploy interactive eLearning solutions
- Write scripts, apply graphic design skills, program user interactions, record software simulations, demonstrations, voiceovers, and create all applicable multimedia products to develop eLearning solutions
- Manipulate and edit digital imagery, video and sound

- Edit and review existing eLearning solutions to keep them current and relevant
- Proactively seek eLearning client and -user feedback, and edit materials accordingly
- QC the courses and verify every aspect of the learning material works: navigation, spelling, interactions, etc
- Remain current with technology tools and trends in Digital Learning
Veeva LMS Administration:
- Upload course material as needed and assign appropriate roles to courses (as outlined in the training matrices)
- Run training reports in Veeva as needed for audits, etc.
- Assist with Veeva process questions where applicable (provide admin report)
- Generate metrics reports to be distributed to management
Other Duties: The incumbent will serve in a backup capacity to the Training Coordinator and Senior learning Leader on the following initiatives:
- Maintain the Lunch and Learn schedule
- Act as facilitator during remote sessions (monitor questions in chat, record sessions, support presenters and participants as needed)
- Create and send invitations to lunch and learn sessions as well as set up webex and distribute post session slides and recording links
- Update and maintain the SharePoint site as needed
- Manage quarterly new Hire Orientation
- Monitor the Drug Development mailbox and address/escalate issues as needed
- Create and distribute annual L&D Needs survey and compile a report of findings
- Assist facilitators with scheduling and delivery of Leadership Development programs and their administrative duties to support the Drug Development L&D Team
- Alert QA management of issues and trends for system, procedures and training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a learning discipline or related area of study
- At least 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry in a quality and compliance document and training designer role is desired. Pharmaceutical eLearning design experience is preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects; ability to multitask and work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Advanced knowledge and skills on the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online learning content and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning; skilled in the efficient use of common instructional authoring tools, especially Articulate Storyline and the Articulate 360 suite
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Power Point) is required, as well as familiarity and working knowledge of key software applications relevant to electronic document management systems (e.g., Veeva Quality Vault preferred
