Job Information
Assembles metal product, partially or completely. Positioning parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following. Blueprint's, diagrams, layouts or oral instruction.
Role & Responsibility
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being Assembled or blueprint.
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners using hand, air and/or power tools.
- Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Performs overtime work as required.
- Perform other job functions as necessary.
- Keeps area clean and organized.
- Proper 5S practices must be maintained.
- Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
- Routes, wires, assembles, and installs wire harnesses, electrical and electronic components in sheet metal assemblies or panels, as well as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and according to current standard wiring specifications, using jig boards, hand tools, and equipment.
- Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine established assembly methods.
- Cuts wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters.
- Cuts plastic sleeves and slips sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections.
- Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device.
- Connects wiring to accessories, such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, switches, and solenoids, and installs accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units, using hand tools.
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
- Testing should also include some type of Hy-Pot test to ensure proper grounding of electrical components.
Job Requirement
- Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
- Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements.
- Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
- Must possess ability to work in Oracle and use PC to look at OMS sheets as needed for assembly.
- Must be able to communicate effectively Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training.
- General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
- Education Required: High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Experience Required: 0>2 years
- Travel Required: <10%
- Must display a high value for quality
- Prior electrical training/certification is desired but not a requirement
