Medtronic Cranial and Spinal Technologies in Fort Worth, Texas is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Service and Repair Department. This position will be 100% onsite.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will provide strong, independent technical support to teams that develop and document manufacturing capabilities in performance, preventative maintenance, and calibration for maximizing the performance of machinery, equipment, tools, and fixtures. You will also provide technical support to teams that contribute to the assurance of product quality, reliability, manufacturability and production efficiency activities or the investigation and corrective action of problems and deficiencies.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Act as representative of Service on cross functional teams developing and documenting the maintenance and improvement of manufacturing processes, machinery, equipment, tools or fixtures for production, inspection, and test requirements to ensure the most efficient production system.
  • Provide technical support to teams that develop new product lines and advocate design for serviceability.
  • Create or update SAP manufacturing processes and documentation requirements.
  • Create and execute production process qualifications, product line validations and product qualifications.
  • Apply technical expertise to analysis of statistical tools to determine sample sizes, special processes, tooling / fixture capabilities, tolerancing, etc.
  • Support peers, teams, and cross functional departments in meeting site CAPA objectives in acquiring the highest product quality and reliability.
  • Works closely with R&D on updates to parts and testing requirements for units to be compliant with latest regulations.
  • Apply lean and six sigma methodologies in manufacturing processes to improve production performance to specifications, quality, and cost.
  • Apply technical ability, interpersonal conflict resolution and team building skills, with the ability to influence in a worldwide team environment on both the technical and personal level.
  • Work with peers and teams on both fundamental and complex concepts, practices and procedures for manufacturing processes and systems.

Must Haves - Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a regulated industry, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years of engineering experience in a regulated industry

Nice to Have

  • Specialized Engineering degree in Electrical or Biomedical
  • A thorough understanding of Serviceability, design, and manufacturing of electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Experience with Lean Principles and Six Sigma
  • Experience with projects involving Product Life Cycle and/or Design Transfer in a regulated environment
  • Experience implementing product design specifications and design process requirements
  • Experience with designing quality into the production process
  • Experience in software validation on production lines
  • Experience with statistical tools to determine sample size, special processes, tooling/fixtures and tolerance stack
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Familiar with working in an ISO 13485 and FDA regulated environment
  • Experience developing test case management and automation best practices
  • Experience with embedded systems testing considered a plus
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Project to plan and track action items to complete projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and team building skills with the ability to influence on both technical and personal levels.
  • Green belt certified, or Black Belt trained
  • Experience with SAP

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
