Industrial Electrical Maintenance - Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Performs electric and electronic advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis, repairs and equipment improvements, providing permanent support in emergencies, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.

Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Main Activities:

  • Calibration & Verification
  • Able to work with Pyrometers, Transducers (pressure, flow, temperature), Transmitters (pressure, flow, temperature), Scales, Electronics (instruments) & Burners. Brands including but not limited to: Fluke, Beamex, Honeywell, Mettler, Toledo, Rice lake, Zebra
  • Knowledge of Combustion, Furnace refractories, Furnace gas system, Air monitoring
  • Carries out repairs and improvements on 480V and below panels and protection systems.
  • Interprets electrical drawings.
  • Calibrates and performs adjustments in electronic instruments and industrial PLCs. Allen Bradley or Siemens.
  • Inspects, diagnoses and performs advanced electric and electronic repairs, replacements and upgrades.
  • Follows up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness.
  • Be able to correctly log characteristics of the failure to help determine the root cause of the failure
  • Verifies and ensures the availability of spare parts
  • Verifies the correct functioning of tools, instruments, parts and accessories checking they fulfill with specifications.
  • Participates in preventive maintenance activities.
  • Interacts with other areas.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work with outside resources
  • Carries out forklift or radio control overhead crane operation when applicable.
  • Updates information in the maintenance systems and performs maintenance reports.

Mechanical Purpose

Performs mechanic and hydraulic advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis and corrective actions, performing systematic analysis of problems and improvement opportunities, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.

Mechanical Main Activities

- Inspects, diagnoses and performs advanced mechanic and hydraulic repairs, replacements and upgrades.

- Follows up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness.

- Disassembles and assembles complex mechanical components.

- Inspects mechanic and hydraulic equipment according to maintenance plans.

- Makes complex failure analysis, establishing the problems' root causes and taking actions to avoid repetitions.

- Performs reviews of emergency groups' repairs and failure analysis.

- Carries out analysis and proposal of machine and equipment upgrades or replacements.

- Plans subassemblies policies.

- Performs mechanical and optical alignments.

- Builds hydraulic piping and installs accessories.

- Interprets technical drawing.

- Operates welding equipment.

- Executes machine lock outs and tag outs.

- Verifies the correct functioning of tools, instruments and accessories checking they fulfill with specifications.

- Develops and tests preventive maintenance plans.

- Plans corrective actions for scheduled or unscheduled shutdowns, based on the inspections performed or the problems diagnosed.

- Plans and carries out predictive maintenance techniques under supervision.

- Guarantees the availability of resources, ensuring a suitable minimum stock and the definition of the required information on the maintenance systems.

- Interact with other areas.

- Carries out forklift or radio control overhead crane operation when applicable
