RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.
Background Information:
This full-time position performs as an Electronic Warfare (EW) Signals Analyst/Threat Simulation Developer within the Range Instrumentation Division (RID’s) Aircraft Signature & Avionics Measurement Branch (ASAM) Electronic Warfare (EW) team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, MD. As part of a larger test team, this Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Range EW Threat Definition will work in a rewarding technical environment supporting EW and aircraft signature measurements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Applies EW threat test and measurement techniques expertise to operate installed Range system and implement component level configurations
- Applies advanced technical knowledge of Radar targets, Electronic Countermeasures generation, threat emitter simulation, Electromagnetic Interference, Electromagnetic Compatibility and testing, and antenna constraints to achieve EW test mission objectives
- Programs, operates, and maintains threat simulators which transmit radar waveforms and various communications systems to meet test environment requirements
- Develops and implements instrumentation configurations to capture real-time RF emissions on installed system test sources, component level sources, and actual threat systems when available
- Oversees Range signals collection and analysis activities used to validate simulated waveforms against intelligence data descriptions to assist with accreditation packages of EW waveforms
- Maintains cognizance of current and emerging EW test and data collection techniques
- Works independently to resolve routine and moderately difficult tasks with occasional support and consultation with senior level personnel
- Provides expertise on Radio Frequency (RF) threat test and measurement techniques and methods applicable to installed systems test and component level configurations
- Supports and conducts technical activities required to achieve the ASAM EW test mission, including RADAR targets and ECM generation, threat emitter simulation, EMI measurements, EMC measurements/testing and antenna pattern and polarization constraints
- Programs, sets up, operates, and maintains unique complex threat environment generators to include NEWEG, ACTS, MTFS, BCSS, FURY, and other emitter simulators to meet test specific threat requirements
- Designs/Implements complex instrumentation set-ups to capture real-time RF emissions on installed system test sources, component level sources, and actual threat systems as available
- Occasional travel and/or overtime may be required

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:
BS Degree in an engineering or in related disciplines such as physics, mathematics or computer science from an accredited college or university.
A minimum of 4 years work experience in radar signal processing or analysis. In lieu of degree, related military certifications, accreditations, or career programs in the fields of radar signal processing, modeling, or signals analysis plus 10+ years of experience in technical signals analysis.
Successful completion of NCS EA-280/SIGE-3810 Intermediate TechELINT Analysis or equivalent program
Completion of EA-380/SIGE-4810 is strongly desirable
Intelligence Community or prior military analyst experience is desirable
Possess an academic and work experience background in such areas as preparation of technical and operational test plans, execution of sophisticated tests, certification of systems, logistic support planning, technical data review, and analytical interpretation of test results
Knowledge of computer systems, software, computer networks, and computer interfacing
Possess in-depth technical knowledge of threat emitter systems and the ability and accesses to utilize national databases and other authoritative reporting sources to create or modify threat models to meet customer test objectives
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass drug screening
Security Clearance:
- Must have and be able to maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) issued Top Secret Clearance
Work Conditions:
Conditions will vary. Most tasking will be performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work is required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
