Engineering Technician IV - Engineering Standards

The Eugene Water & Electric Board seeks a skilled engineering technician to provide technical program support for standards in the Electric division. This role will collaborate with Distribution Engineering, Systems Engineering, Metering and Telecommunications to coordinate, create, update, and maintain electric standards.
The successful candidate will also:
- Act as Chair of the Electric Standards Committee.
- Coordinate all functions of the Electric Distribution Standards Committee and conducts Committee meetings on a regular basis. (bi-monthly)
- Develop and maintain a document management system that ensure security and control, and monitor the status of standards.
- Coordinate material management procedures/processes with the development and review of new materials for specifications and standards.
- Coordinate clerical work required for development and revision to material specifications.
- Ensure consistency and overall effectiveness in how work is conducted.
- Organize and communicate changes to standards including updates and/or modifications to the computer-based standards management system.
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to create solutions supporting the strategic direction of the division.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to EWEB staff.
- Audit, Investigate and analyze work practices to identify and recommend solutions for electric standards.

The starting annual salary for this position is $91,026.06 - $109,669.88, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.
Telecommuting:
This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site; the selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon. Out of area candidates may be eligible for a relocation reimbursement.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience as an Engineering Technician III or eight years of equivalent utility experience in design tasks and customer contact relating to electric distribution systems.
Education: Associate's degree in an engineering discipline. Satisfactory completion of NWPPA staking technician program, or other approved technician training course may substitute.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience aligned to successfully perform the essential duties of this job may qualify.
