Zurich North America is currently looking for an Enterprise Data Specialist to join our Data Analytics, Data Management Reporting team based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. While this position will be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.


The Enterprise Data Specialist will focus on creating PowerBI dashboards based off of user requirements and design sessions within established design standards. The Enterprise Data Specialist will also identify and validate data scenarios and recognize opportunities with actionable plans in order to support the improvement of the organization’s decision-making capabilities through high quality and transparent data.


Additional responsibilities include:


  • Participate in key enterprise data initiative projects, supporting underlying data capture and utilization opportunities
  • Identify data most valuable to the organization, and evaluate this data in alignment with the established data model
  • Develop working relationships with key technical leads throughout the organization and ensure ongoing alignment with their activities and the overall organization’s strategic direction
  • Assist in the evolution of the physical data designs for new and ongoing projects ensuring consistency and standardization across multiple projects
  • Research data anomalies and develop recommendations to solve unique organizational and enterprise data problems
  • Aggregate, consolidate, and develop technical documentation surrounding the organization’s information architecture
  • Analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence
  • Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights
  • Transform business requirements into technical publications.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Data Management area
    AND
  • Experienced in data interrogation, data profiling or data modeling


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced PowerBI knowledge and experience including merging and duplicating queries and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
  • Data modeling experience
  • SQL, SAS, ETL, and data quality tools
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Insurance industry experience
