Job Summary:

The Enterprise Program Manager will be responsible for managing strategic programs and projects of varying complexity that drive business value. This role will report to the Director of IT Strategic Projects and will have an opportunity to contribute to and/or lead a variety of projects and programs including new acquisition integrations, innovative guest and employee experience projects, operational efficiency improvements, security and compliance projects, and process reengineering projects. This is a critical leadership role with direct interactions with the Executive Committee and their leadership teams. This position within Vail Resorts comes with high expectations that this leader will establish themselves as a genuine partner to both IT and Operations with an ability to lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive: Drive company strategy and goals with efficient and effective program and project management
    • Analyze and understand business strategy and high priority goals.
    • Engage with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate agreement on objectives and success measures, manage issue tracking and resolution, and ensure project objectives are met.
    • Direct large-scale, complex programs and projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrixed partners.
    • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan. Proposes recommendations and adjustments to plans as required.
  • Connect: Inspire trust and build strong, authentic, productive relationships with key stakeholders and working partners. Effectively engage and collaborate with leadership across the organization to develop, define and build on innovative ideas and business priorities.
    • Engage broadly and deeply across the organization to quickly connect information and people to drive enterprise projects, programs and initiatives; authentically connect with and lead others who do not directly report to you.
    • Use expertise and relationships to influence key stakeholders.
    • Partner with stakeholders to understand their drivers and needs, and use that knowledge and those relationships to drive effective prioritization and roadmaps for delivery. Navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively.
  • Develop: Create an environment of continual improvement both inside and outside of direct team.
    • Develop change management, training, and communication plans and approaches necessary to execute on responsibilities. Serve as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders, steering committees, etc. on different aspects of assigned initiatives and driving decisions and guidance.
    • Demonstrate the ability to learn and develop as a self-starter requiring little direction.
    • Constantly learn, particularly showing an ability to lead through persuasion and value versus role authority.
    • Demonstrate self-awareness and accountability while also holding others accountable to deliver on schedule.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology or related field. MBA or other advanced business learning or coursework preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience including proven ability to successfully lead and oversee critical, cross-functional projects and multi-faceted efforts
  • Demonstrates project/program management and analytical skills with the ability to identify and understand complex problems, make decisions, create plans and solutions, and take action.
  • Passion for guest experience
  • Experience with analyzing information and data to inform decision-making
  • Self-starter and self-motivated without the need for daily direction
  • Experience supporting and working with C-level executives in a business environment
  • Proven track record for problem solving, showcasing success using different skill sets
  • Continuously adapts to changes and effectively navigates through ambiguity, decides and acts without having the picture totally defined, appropriately changes one’s strategy in response to new information
  • Demonstration of strong business and financial acumen
  • Preparation of executive-level presentations (e.g., content development, speaking points, etc.,)
  • Technology advocate and highly proficient in project management tools
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products


Required Skills:

  • Leadership:
    • Ability to drive strategy, vision, direction, and prioritization on enterprise wide projects and programs at the Executive level.
    • Can manage initiatives from concept through to completion, including the development and presentation of a business case.
    • Applies systems thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on strategic and innovative thoughts/ideas.
    • Informed on industry standards and practices, and a forward thinker on new innovative approaches.
  • Project Management:
    • Ability to socialize and manage a portfolio of projects in support of stated strategic objectives.
    • Manage business operational impacts as well as technical components of the program or project.
    • Work with internal and external teams to develop and execute a comprehensive QA approach for enterprise wide projects and programs.
    • Provide vision and leadership regarding organizational design and resourcing of large, complex and undefined enterprise wide initiatives including all aspects of management from vision through execution.
  • Financials:
    • Manage enterprise wide programs with complex financial models including internal and external stakeholders and complex contract negotiation as needed.
    • Participate in the annual expense and capital budgeting processes & cycles for their areas.
  • Employee Management:
    • Ability to manage/oversee a significant number of internal and contract resources across multiple projects.


The expected range is $89,100 - $120,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
