The Manager of Environmental Health & Safety and Facilities will develop, implement, maintain, and support the Environmental Health and Safety programs of ACM Global Laboratories while independently performing a wide range of duties to ensure that ACM Global Laboratory is in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, accrediting agency standards, and ACM policies. This position will champion and/or lead projects that will drive improvements in key EHS and facilities performance indicators (KPIs).The Manager of Environmental Health & Safety and Facilities will assist the Director of Facility Operations and Construction on planning, directing, and overseeing aspects of facility and grounds upkeep, services, security and utilities programs.

ATTRIBUTES

  • Certified Safety Professional, preferred.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • Well-versed in facilities management best practices.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC control systems
  • Proficient in Windows, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD a plus. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Minimum five years’ experience interpreting and applying local, state and OSHA and Environmental regulations

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety/ Environmental. Coordinate the development and implementation of the global environmental health and safety programs, including oversight for any facility changes as it relates to safety. Act as a principle consultant to ACM global facilities on issues related to environmental health and safety. Establish collaborative ties to leadership throughout ACM to strategize and implement a framework for preventing and responding to environmental health and safety events and/or disasters. Chair Global EHS Team, which monitors environmental health and safety, and support security issues as they arise. Reports to Senior Management and Laboratory Management on employee and patient safety initiatives and annual safety program evaluation. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and aware of any emerging changes to laws and regulations that impact ACM. Liaise with local, state and federal agencies in accordance with safety and environmental protocol. Maintains OSHA recordable incidents and other records. Monitor employee compliance to polices, training schedules, and laws by managing safety program database and auditing operational practices. Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions. Investigate accidents or incidents and recommend corrective actions that would mitigate reoccurrences. Manage the maintenance of manuals, safety documents, Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and polices. Serve as coordinator of Emergency Action Plan and emergency responses including risk assessments, SOPs, Maps, signage, evacuation plans, sheltering, lock downs, harsh weather evens, workplace violence, terrorism, natural hazards, etc. Ensures health and safety awareness for employees and visitors and compliance to OSHA and state regulations and policies. Develop safety plans, goals and objectives to reduce accidents. Manages all hazardous waste manifests and to ensure compliance to the Environmental federal and state regulations. Assess ergonomic conditions and environment to reduce incidence muscular-skeletal conditions. Develop continuous improvement initiatives, such as recycling and waste reduction. Develop, monitor and maintain safe work practices, related to policy and procedures, both globally and departmental scope. Assist in planning a coordinated response for nuclear, biological and chemical public health exposures with local, county and regional agencies. Design, oversee, and participate in conducting new employee orientation and safety training. Assist in developing and monitoring appropriate Environmental Health and Safety supplies for the facility.

Facilities. Overseeing building and grounds maintenance contractors and building custodial functions. Monitoring grounds, interior spaces, furnishings, fixtures and laboratory and non-laboratory equipment for normal maintenance repair, replacement, and energy efficiency. Assist in disbursement and closing of preventive maintenance and calibration work orders using our computer maintenance management software (TMS). Evaluate bids, materials, punch lists, warranties, change order costs and additional time requests from vendors and/or contractors with a critical eye to ensure quality and the project comes in on time and within budget. Support departments with layout changes and procurement of furniture as needed. Support the building security system, which include card access, video cameras, and access badges.

Emergency response / Disaster recovery. With the support of local leadership, maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans globally.
