DESCRIPTION

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Environmental Technician to join our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. This position is full-time and will serve the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.

OVERVIEW

• Performs routine quantitative and qualitative field and laboratory operations, such as sampling, testing, measuring, and assessments.
• Assist in planning, monitoring and reporting environmental compliance, including air, ground water or water pollution.
• Work with biological or cultural resources and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), solid, and radioactive waste and materials.
• Utilize knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), ISO 14000 and pollution prevention, and consent orders.
• Perform routine tasks independently.
• Utilizes good knowledge of the job and DOE Laboratory policies and principles.
• Frequently uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• May perform some non-routine tasks requiring the exercise of independent judgment.
• Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Follows established procedures for routine work.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be able to effectively use a computer and iPhone.
• To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
• Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
