Description:
RPS is currently seeking a Senior or Principal ESG/Sustainability Consultant in their North America ESG and Sustainability business unit. The ideal candidate will work with the Business Unit Leader to help evolve the group’s strategic direction, service offerings, KPIs, and goals in the areas of Corporate Sustainability, ESG Due Diligence and strategy support projects.
This role requires a strong background in strategy, management, and client engagement. The ability to be adaptive and flexible to changing client demands, stakeholder expectations, and competitors’ services will be required to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage ESG due diligence assessments for industrial and commercial transactions.
- Prepare concise reports that assess ESG performance and identify risks, liabilities and value creation opportunities.
- Develop ESG policies, strategies, monitoring tools, and sustainability reporting and disclosures to clients a various stages of their ESG journey.
- Serve as the technical leader on projects and independently liaise with clients to discuss deliverables, budgets, timing, and findings
- Support business development and sales initiative through direct sales/client management, including preparing proposals and participating in client and other stakeholder calls.
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff to enable them to take the lead on technical tasks.
- Support multiple projects and meet high quality standards on project deliverables.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a hard-working, self-starting, solution-focused individual with a “roll up the sleeves and get it done” mentality and the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, business, economics, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of ESG, sustainability, impact investing, or other relevant experience (consulting or in-house)
- 2+ years of previous management experience
- The candidate should be comfortable handling complex projects, taking on new challenges, and solving problems for clients
- Comfortable giving presentations to senior leaders at clients’ companies
