What you’ll do:
Working in Marketing the Samples and Events Manager will be responsible for the following primary duties:
The Samples and Events Manager is responsible for enhancing HMH’s brand and company image at exhibits/events across all marketing segments. Collaborates with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Sales, and Brand & Creative to develop and implement exhibits/events strategy. The Samples and Events Manager assists in the creation of digital sample experiences for HMH Solutions that provide customers a digital gateway to Ed. The Samples and Events Manager reports to the Manager, Samples and Events.
Digital Sample Management
Supports with Manager, Samples and Events, to execute digital sampling sites with a consistent tone of voice across disciplines that drive lead generation.
Participates in working sessions to establish the concept, layout, and final design of assigned digital sampling sites
Gather assets and copy from Learning Architects, Product Marketing and Brand & Creative
Assists in the creation of sites utilizing the Content Management System (CMS)
Uses FlipHTML to create assigned digital flipbooks and imports them to the CMS for a better user experience
Under the guidance of Manager, Samples and Events, iterates, updates, and refines digital sampling sites based on customer behavioral data and feedback to provide the optimal user experience

Exhibits/Event Management
Partners with Manager, Samples and Events to collaborate with Product Marketing and other key stakeholders to execute to the strategy for digital, live or hybrid internal and external events, exhibits, webinars, meetings, and sponsorships to support brand management and profile raising
Responsible for all aspects of event management; pre and post project planning, maintaining registration, sourcing venues, monitoring budget, and consolidating event metrics to evaluate ROI
Partners with Author Utilization Manager to secure author and keynote speakers for engagements with HMH
Reviews hotel contracts for meetings/summits for guest rooms, meeting/function rooms, food and beverage functions, and audio and visual equipment
Manages housing and registration via CVENT
Ensures leads are properly distributed to Sales and other key stakeholders
Provides subject matter expertise in development of event/booth design to ensure cohesiveness in displays and messaging across all HMH business units
Ensure HMH policies and procedures are adhered to in the execution of conferences/trade shows/events
Leverages relationships when needed in order to further business goals, budgetary requirements, and other objectives
Works with internal creative services to coordinate and execute materials including but not limited to advertising, collateral, invitations, signage, and customer communications to enhance the marketing impact of internal and external Exhibits/events

Budget Management:
Monitor the exhibits/events budget as assigned and identify areas of cost savings
Facilitate prompt and accurate payment of relevant invoices to maintain exhibit/events expenditures within budgeted parameters

What you’ll need:
Minimum 2-5 year(s) of experience in event planning/execution, public relations, and marketing.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Technical (software, platform, and methodologies): Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products; especially in Excel

Ability to:
Be self-motivated; prioritize and organize various project dimensions
Display excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills
Utilize exceptional Project Management skills
Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
