Description of Position for Executive Director
A Part-Time Position

Qualifications:
The position of Executive Director requires training and experience in the following:
❑ General Administration
❑ Financial Development
❑ Public Relations and Marketing
❑ Current Computer programs that are critical to the operation of the organization

Duties (including but not limited to):
The Executive Director:
❑ Manages Financial Development

● Supervises an annual fund drive or drives
● Researches and identifies potential new grant-funding opportunities while maintaining the roster of current grants.
● Prepares and submits all grant applications and follow-up reports
● Facilitates concert program advertising

❑ Maintains Communication
● Serves as the primary contact for information and communication between families and students, Music and Board Directors, concert presenters and vendors
● Acts as the clearinghouse for all information concerning MSCC activities
● Maintains regular communication with students and families
● Monitors and updates the MSCC website
● Presents a report of administrative activities at Board meetings

❑ Organizes Public Relations and Marketing
● Maintains all mailing lists
● Creates and sends press releases to promote MSCC events
● Posts audition notices
● Promotes ongoing good relations with other local civic and arts organizations

❑ Develops and produces print material including:
● Season brochures, newsletters, concert promotion material and special flyers
● Registration materials
● Concert program booklets

❑ Administers the Budget
● Collects tuition and all other fees
● Pays bills and administers staff payroll
● Maintains financial records in collaborations with the bookkeeper
● Presents a report of MSCC financial activities at monthly Board meetings

❑ Oversees concert preparation
● Coordinates all rehearsal and concert preparations
● Manages all concert logistics on-site during rehearsal and performance
● Assists the Music directors in rehearsal and concert operations as requested

❑ Assist the Music Directors in administrative matters and the Board Directors in matters fiscal and managerial.

Accountability:
The Executive Director is solely an employee of Main Street Children’s Choir who reports to and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors of Main Street Children’s Choir.

Pay is at 20 dollars per hour for 15 hours a month with the potential to grow once grants come in along with donations and tuition.

  • New Britain, CT 06051: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
