Position Overview:
Parade.com is seeking an Executive Editor, Trending News to play a key role in charting the brand's growth strategy. Our ideal candidate is passionate about pop culture and entertainment and keen on identifying trends across a variety of lifestyle categories. You are as strategic as you are creative and know how to deliver quality storytelling that sparks conversation. You're not just comfortable with making quick decisions and working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment–you thrive on it. An inspirational, innovative leader with a talent for the fine details of editing, planning and executing, you'll direct an ambitious new in-house team and oversee creation and distribution of compelling, of-the-moment content that wins every time.
This is a remote job; the role will report to the Arena Group's SVP of Growth. The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $95,000 - $130,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Parade Lifestyle Arena leadership, Audience, and Growth teams refine strategy
- Hire and manage a team of digital news editors to create unique, engaging and shareable content
- Create and refine processes and editorial calendars
- Oversee and guide story selection, digital content creation
- Monitor traffic and analytics to inform editorial and strategic decisions and to create accountability for results
- Write and edit as necessary
- Work across multiple projects daily to keep work flowing between teams and collaborators as part of the publishing process
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience working in a fast-paced digital environment with increasing leadership responsibilities
- Ability to thrive in a highly competitive newsroom
- Strong news judgment, paired with excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills
- Proficiency in digital content, audience and SEO best practices
- Well-versed in analytical & research tools such as Google Analytics, ahrefs, comScore, etc.
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership and time management skills.
- Outgoing and collaborative personality with the ability to develop strong relationships.
- Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field
