Job description
ERG is seeking an experienced engineer in our Morrisville (Research Triangle Park), NC office to support air quality projects for our large portfolio of state and federal clients. The candidate will bring creativity and attention to detail to a range of projects supporting public sector clients and programs. Primary project assignments will focus on air pollution control evaluations, control effectiveness determinations, and assisting state and federal regulatory agencies in developing plans to reduce emissions of ozone precursors and visibility-impairing pollutants.

The position’s duties will include:
- Determining technical feasibility, costs, and environmental impacts of emissions control equipment and strategies to reduce air and climate emissions;
- Federal and state air quality regulatory analysis;
- State Implementation Plan development;
- Regional Haze program planning; and
- Ozone attainment planning.
- A bachelors or master's degree in engineering, Environmental Engineering and Chemical Engineering degrees preferred or a related technical discipline;
- 5-10 years of experience with air quality work;
- Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act; and
- Air regulatory development or permitting experience.
- Experience in project or task management;
- Experience conducting BACT, RACT, or similar control analysis;
- Experience in oil and gas emissions and regulatory programs;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong spreadsheet and database skills (e.g., Microsoft® Excel®, Access®);
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
- The ability to work well in teams and to meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment; and
- A commitment to provide quality services.
