The Facilities Technician will report directly to the Facilities Manager, and is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the dry and wet mechanical HVAC systems in a semiconductor FAB. This position will also be required to perform a variety of facilities preventative and corrective maintenance activities in the areas of general building maintenance, plumbing, fire protection systems, and has a general understanding of facilities plant maintenance and operation. Interfaces with Engineering on new installs and modifications.
This position is B shift (works every other Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues - 7:00 PM - 7:06 AM), with the expectation to cover other shifts based on business needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain, operate and repair facilities systems and equipment according to specifications. This includes general building maintenance and other tasks assigned.
- The primary function will be to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems including; chilled and hot water, process cooling water, compressed air, exhaust systems, fire suppression systems, cleanroom and non-cleanroom HVAC equipment.
- Ensure systems are operating within specified parameters and respond to alarms accordingly.
- Works with manufacturing on repairs to facilities infrastructure and other services to FAB tools and equipment.
- Responsible to plan, identify and procure parts for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise and equipment to determine equipment status and repair as necessary.
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Solicit competitive bids when necessary to obtain fair pricing for parts and services.
- Utilize CMMS software to schedule preventive and unscheduled maintenance, and plan the work activities for the technicians on shift.
- May be required to join ERT.
- High School Diploma or GED; an AAS or technical degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience.
- Able and willing to work B shift (works every other Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues - 7:00 PM - 7:06 AM), with the expectation to cover other shifts based on business needs
- Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Semiconductor experience is a plus
Specific Skills Required:
- Able to work cohesively with peer technicians on all shifts as well as engineering and customers
- Willing and able to perform work from a ladder or man lift
- Individual initiative and ability to diagnose problems
- Must have a good understanding of engineering principles
- Must be able to work from detailed blueprints, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, building codes, or work orders and following written or verbal instructions
- Ability to build and sustain positive and collaborative working relationships with a wide range of peers, customers and constituents
- Strong ability to translate priorities into field decisions
- Able to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Competency and experience with CMMS programs, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
