The Position

Oversees the implementation and monitoring of Section 504, Limited English Proficiency (“LEP”), and other fair housing and civil rights requirements. Acts as the hearing officer for subsidized housing application denials and terminations. Serves as the 504 Coordinator for the organization. Assists in the preparation of responses to fair housing complaints as assigned. Provides training and advice to staff regarding interpretation of policy, city ordinance, federal and state law.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration social services, human services or related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience related to affordable housing, employment or similar.
  • A valid Colorado driver license is required. Eligibility to drive must be maintained in accordance with the Personnel Policy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word software. * Skill in independently adapting, interpreting, and applying written guidelines, precedents and standardized work practices to a variety of unprecedented or problematic situations. * Must show respect for the opinions and requests of others and behave in such a way as to ensure an atmosphere free of needless interruptions, conflict, difficulty and/or discrimination. * Ability to deal with people who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people of diverse backgrounds and situations, is sensitive to individual differences. Adapts approach to different people and situations. Sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce. * Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance. * Attendance in the office during the hours scheduled. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of position.

Benefit Information  Sick leave is accrued at 6 hours per month.  Vacation leave for new employees is accrued at 8 hours per month.  12 paid holidays per year with an optional paid day off.  Health insurance and 125 Plan.  Group life insurance, pension plan (employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of the annual salary), short term and long-term disability insurance are paid by DHA.  Dental plan, vision insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, 457 pension plan and the Roth IRA are employee paid options.  Performance based merit increases and cost of living adjustments are given depending upon current policy.

Beginning salary range: $73,035.17/year - $91,293.98/year
