**This is a time-limited position**
The Field Services Training Supervisor Position is in the Communicable Disease Branch and resides with the Field Services Unit. The position will be located in the Cooper Building/Raleigh.
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and oversee the implementation of a Branch wide contact tracing training program. Specifically, this position will supervise subordinate training staff and ensure training proficiencies in HIV/STD and general communicable diseases case investigation/contact tracing practices, NCEDSS/NCCOVID data entry, and outbreak response techniques are available.

The Communicable Disease Branch of the Division of Public Health primarily deals with infectious diseases that are reportable by law to the state health department, as well as a few other communicable diseases of public health significance, such as influenza, norovirus infection and certain healthcare-associated infections

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:

  • Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees
  • Thorough knowledge of adult education training theories and the application of these in both principle and practice
  • Thorough knowledge of the management structures and their service through the system being served
  • Considerable knowledge of communicable disease transmission, treatment and prevention strategies
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the general public
  • Ability to manage and improve administrative programs and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness
Management Preferences:
  • A degree in education, health education, or public health from an appropriately accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of experience in a progressive training or program coordinator role

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a human service related field, such as Sociology, Psychology, Education, or Health Education
OR
A degree providing background in organizational analysis and management development, from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in a progressive training role, which includes some administrative/coordinative duties in staff development, with two years being in the work area assigned, or a related program area;
OR
Master s degree in a human service related field, such as Sociology, Psychology, Education, or Health Education; or a degree providing background in organizational analysis and management development, from an appropriately accredited institution with two years of experience in a progressive training role, which includes some administrative/coordinative duties in staff development, with two years being in the work area assigned, or a related program area
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience
