Position Summary:
Experienced Finance/Accounting professional to interact with operational department(s) to review and implement process efficiencies and provide expert assistance in meeting accounting and finance requirements of the Company as well as toaidin identifying efficiency and effectiveness opportunities. The role will take a lead in the forecasting and reporting process within the department(s) assigned to become a key partner between them and the Finance/Accounting teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Finance/Accounting Tasks for Supported Department(s) - take a lead role in monthly forecasting process and month end accruals and analysis. Ensure the accuracy of the financials for the department(s), propercapitalizationand general ledger coding.
- Budget vs Actual Tracking – work with supported department(s) with both capital and expense budgets to develop monthly tracking, and analysis. Position will gain understanding of all general ledger accounts charged to by the department(s) supported to understand and document all variances to plan and partner with department(s) to ensure plan commitments are realized.
- Performance Improvement Contribution (PIC) – Identify, execute, and/or support PIC initiatives. Respond to the needs of the Company by identifying and realizing additional expense/capital saving practices.
- CER Creation – Work with operational departments for any capex related requests.
- Special Projects – complete special projects as given.
Scope and Impact:
Position will be a permanent Accounting & Finance position assigned to the Construction Department. The role will take a lead to ensure proper compliance with Company’s capitalization policy as well as on the re-forecasting andspend analysisprocess becoming a key partner with the Finance/Accounting teams.
This role will develop analysis and provide feedback and/or ideas to partner with the supported department(s) to ensure they have the necessary tools to manage the business thru an understanding of their financials to include monthly re-forecasting, budgeting,spend analysis, month end close, expense challenges, and Performance Improvement Contribution (PIC). Provide additional reporting to Sr. Finance Manager - Construction and Sr. Management as requested.
Education: 4-yr Accounting/Finance degree required; MBA a plus
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years related Accounting/Finance experience preferably in a new store and construction project environment in the retail industry.
Skills and Abilities: Advanced Excel user, proficiency in computerized accounting applications
