Location: Hybrid or Remote Work ModelBy joining the team as a Financial Business Consultant, you will support execution of corporate strategy by providing complex financial analysis and strategic council to internal business partners, driving revenue and business performance.
The Financial Business Consultant will:
- Analyze financial performance trends by business segment and/or geographic region while identifying drivers of key metrics. Communicate insights effectively to all stakeholders.
- Use a consultative approach to develop robust strategic plans with internal business partners that meet short and long-term goals aligned with corporate objectives.
- Collaborate within Financial Analytics team to develop dynamic financial modeling and valuation of proposed business initiatives.
- Develop deep understanding of the business through close partnership with Regional Vice Presidents, Underwriting Vice Presidents, Business Directors, and additional team members.
- Build decision frameworks to help drive data-driven decision-making. Integrate scenarios, risk/reward metrics, and probability of outcomes over a multi-year horizon. Monitor results and utilize outcomes to inform future decisions.
- Develop tools and reports that meet business needs to monitor and understand leading indicators of performance.
- Support the budgeting/forecasting processes by integrating relevant business drivers and trends.
- Understand corporate risk appetite and apply to recommendations.
- Collaborate within Risk and Capital Management team to integrate Risk Analytics outputs into financial decision-making.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert for Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Insurance, Business, Economics, Analytics, or other related degrees
- A background in the Property & Casualty insurance
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience that includes financial analysis, business consulting, insurance product management or similar
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong relationship builder
- In-depth knowledge of SAP/GAAP and financial statements
- Excel power-user, including experience with arrays, nested formulas, index/match, lookups, and pivot tables; strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Ability to effectively frame a problem and translate qualitative impacts to quantitative
- Ability to set priorities and develop a plan to execute
- Excellent analytical skills; judge the reasonability of analysis and/ or data
- Self-starter with the ability to deliver high quality work with minimal supervision
- Preferred
- Relevant professional designations, such as CFA, CVA, AIAF, CPCU, ARM, or ARe Designation etc.
- Experience with data manipulation, modeling, analysis and visualization, using technologies such as: SQL, R, SAS, PowerBi/Tableau, etc.
