We’re excited to be adding a Firmware Architect to our growing team! This is an engaging and challenging opportunity that plays an intricate role in shaping the development of our new product.


Objectives of this role


  • Work as a bridge between the Solution Architects and development team, building a technical vision of the firmware and the platform, and directing the development.
  • Architecture discussions and complex problem solving as well as coding will be a natural part of your work.

Responsibilities


  • Define and implement communication protocols, security channels, device identity and provisioning
  • Architecture, design, security, and implementation of IoT systems
  • Collaborate with other architects and developers to create and evolve our IoT strategies

Required skills and qualifications


  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering
  • 5 years firmware product development with an understanding of firmware architecture
  • Broad understanding of IoT concepts and trends
  • Good problem-solving skills and an analytic mindset
  • Ability to work with standards and documentation to lay down the path for the platform's future
  • Experience with public key infrastructure
  • Knowledge of security and cryptography on constrained devices - libraries, algorithms, standards, back-ends, protocols.
  • Knowledge of at least one Radio communication technology – BLE, Zigbee, WiFi, etc.
  • Strong programming skills in C and Python
  • Experience with system-level firmware development
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

Preferred skills and qualifications


  • Developed firmware architecture for on premise and connected systems
  • Knowledge of modern IoT communication stacks - MQTT, CoAP, etc.
  • Good knowledge of electronics
  • Experience with the secure provisioning process
  • RTOS application development experience
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Cloud operations/DevOps concepts
  • Experience in containerization technology (AWS ECS, Docker Swarm)
  • Experience in user interface/interaction design
  • Knowledge of Collective code ownership, Coding standards concept
