Position Summary:

Supervises the day-to-day activities of field site support personnel within the Environmental Remediation Program. This position maintains required safety, security and operational training, assures procedural and regulatory compliance, and makes safety and security an integral part of every task. This includes taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.

Major Duties & Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

• 
  Oversees the daily activities of assigned support personnel.
• Coordinates with Project and Program Directors to ensure appropriate staffing resources are available.
• Maintains a weekly and two month schedule to accurately forecast staffing requirements and identify potential resourcing needs and shortages.
• Ensures that all security requirements are met to comply with LANL/DOE Limited Areas.
• Coordinates with site personnel and subcontractors conducting remediation activities.
• Provides technical guidance as required.
• Monitor and maintain subcontracts for adequate funding of assigned personnel.
• Work with N3B Business Services and staffing subcontractors to address any potential staffing shortages.
• Ensures compliance with all health and safety policies and practices.

Education & Essential Functions:

• 
  A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks and to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems.
• Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes.
• Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to lead certain aspects of a task or project.
• Ability to train and mentor more junior staff.
• Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to work in a team oriented project environment.
