Position: Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports to: Food & Beverage Director

Position Overview: * Support the Food & Beverage department by running a great shift in an outlet. Offer support to the Food & Beverage Manager, Banquet Manager, Beverage Manager, AM & PM Restaurant Manager and General Manager. Greet and assist guests, answer incoming calls to the F&B office and handle guest complaints related to our Food & Beverage outlets during your shift.

These duties may be described as, but not limited to: *

  • Set the “stage” properly for service, with lights, music, and staff organized
  • Conduct a pre-shift meeting with staff
  • Track VIP guests, notifying restaurant Manager, chef, and GM, prior to guest arrival.
  • Assist F&B staff with general office duties—typing, filing, answering telephone calls and taking and delivery of messages.
  • Work alongside managers during inventory process to coordinate and distribute to accounting in a timely manner
  • Assist F&B Managers with Human Resources paperwork such as but not limited to, hiring, separation, change of status, so they are completed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate employee training with F&B Managers utilizing training syllabus and training evaluation forms.
  • Respond to both complimentary and complaint “letters” received from guests related to our F&B outlets in a timely manner. Provide copies of all correspondence to General Manager of the Hotel.
  • Work with F&B Managers to be sure all staff is in the proper uniform. Coordinate uniform process for Managers including paperwork and working with Uniform Manager.
  • Work with Managers on Special Events as needed
  • Communicate to all departments and Cape Resort properties information regarding F&B activities and Special Events on a timely basis
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which may be established from time to time is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must have and maintain a professional interest in food and beverage.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess good computational ability.
  • Must possess good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects daily.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent education required. Some college preferred.
  • 1-year previous supervisory experience in a similar restaurant required.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Congress Hall standards.
