Job description
BACKGROUND

Corbin Hill Food Project:
Corbin Hill as a social enterprise is driven by values of sovereignty, racial equity and shifting
power. Since inception, Corbin Hill has grown its farmer network from four to 200 and produces
honey on the farm. In the last two years, 160,000 Farm Shares were distributed throughout New
York City, with 60 percent of our sites serving households living 200 percent below the poverty
level. More recently Corbin Hill has been part of the City’s Good Food program distributing up to
4,000 emergency food boxes per week in addition to operating its regular Farm Share and
institutional partners. For more details about Corbin Hill and its work, please see “About Corbin
Hill Food Project.”

Food as Medicine Project:
The Food as Medicine (FAM) Project will target two communities in New York City: Harlem (East
and Central Harlem) and the South Bronx. Predominantly Black and Latino these communities
face higher poverty and unemployment rates than the national and NYC average. The FAM
project will build upon Corbin Hill’s decade-long experience bringing fresh and local produce to
the same communities and utilize existing capabilities and assets by partnering with two health
networks, Institute of Family Health/Bronx Health REACH and Mount Sinai Hospital.
The FAM Project will evaluate the impact of a produce prescription initiative that will serve 280
individuals/households in the South Bronx and Harlem. The initiative will involve the provision
of Farm Shares to families at partner community health centers and one school as part of a
prescription program leveraging SNAP dollars. Shareholders data will be tracked and monitored
by our project partners at the Icahn School of Medicine and Institute of Family Health/Bronx
Health REACH. The project will measure the impact on dietary health with the overall long term
goal to reduce healthcare use and associated costs through the availability of fruits and
vegetables.

use Local Food Market software to collect new shareholder information and payments (e.g
